How much does it cost companies?

Near zero. Code generation and the first 5,000 verifications each month are free; codes are plain text/QR that print with the packaging artwork or existing batch coders, so there is no new hardware for most factories. Beyond the free tier it is about ₦100 per 1,000 verifications.

How does it stop fake warranty claims?

After a genuine scan, the buyer registers the product to their PMap account. The FIRST registration wins permanently, so warranty entitlement is provable and anyone else presenting the same code is exposed.

What happens if a fraudster copies a real code onto fakes?

Every scan is recorded. A code scanned in two places more than 200 km apart, or scanned many times, is flagged SUSPICIOUS automatically — one genuine item cannot be in two cities.
